A vertical bar chart showing three debt product categories ordered from highest yield and lowest liquidity to lowest yield and highest liquidity: (1) High Yield / Low Liquidity Products — positioned at the top left, offering higher potential returns but restricting capital access for extended periods; (2) Moderate Yield with some gains — positioned in the middle, balancing income and capital appreciation with reasonable liquidity; (3) High Liquidity Products — positioned at the bottom right, prioritising capital preservation and ease of redemption, suitable for short-term needs.
High Yield / Low Liquidity Products: These instruments offer higher potential returns but restrict investor access to capital for an extended period. They carry elevated credit and liquidity risk and are suited to investors with longer time horizons who can tolerate reduced ability to exit their position quickly.
Moderate Yield with some gains: These products occupy a middle ground on the risk-return spectrum, delivering moderate income along with some potential for capital appreciation. They balance yield generation against reasonable liquidity, making them appropriate for investors seeking steady growth without sacrificing full access to funds.
High Liquidity Products: These instruments prioritise capital preservation and ease of redemption over yield. Investors can access their funds readily, making this category suitable for short-term needs, emergency reserves, or as a stable anchor within a broader fixed-income portfolio.

Market Risk

A two-axis diagram mapping five equity product categories. The horizontal axis represents market risk (low to high, left to right) and the vertical axis represents allocation size (small to large, bottom to top). From lowest to highest market risk: (1) Large Cap Funds — large allocation, lowest risk, broad market participation and stability; (2) Large Cap PMS and ETFs — large allocation, low-moderate risk, core equity holding; (3) Alternate Equity Funds — moderate allocation, moderate-high risk, long-short or event-driven strategies; (4) PIPE Funds and Mid Cap PMS — moderate allocation, high risk, higher growth potential; (5) Offshore Equity Funds — small allocation, highest risk, global equity exposure with currency and regulatory risk.
Offshore Equity Funds: Funds that invest in equity markets outside India, providing geographic diversification and exposure to global growth themes. They carry market risk, currency risk, and regulatory risk in addition to standard equity volatility, and are positioned at the higher end of the allocation spectrum.
PIPE Funds and Mid Cap PMS: Private Investment in Public Equity funds and Portfolio Management Services focused on mid-capitalisation companies. These strategies offer higher growth potential relative to large caps but come with elevated volatility and liquidity risk, requiring a medium-to-long investment horizon.
Alternate Equity Funds: Non-traditional equity vehicles that may employ long-short strategies, event-driven approaches, or other alternative techniques. They aim to deliver differentiated, lower-correlation returns but introduce complexity and manager-specific risk not present in conventional equity funds.
Large Cap PMS and ETFs: Portfolio Management Services and Exchange Traded Funds investing in large, well-established companies. These offer relatively stable returns, strong liquidity, and lower volatility compared to mid or small-cap strategies, serving as a core equity holding.
Large Cap Funds: Mutual funds or similar vehicles investing primarily in large-cap companies. Positioned at the lower-risk end of the equity spectrum, they provide steady long-term growth, broad market participation, and greater stability during periods of market stress.
